Cities Drop 2 To End Spring Slate
After a good first spring game, the Cities came away from the weekend's twin bill suffering from back-to-back losses.
The first game was lost in the early going, as Mike Breckenridge returned to the mound after a W the previous week but couldn't regain form and quickly fell behind, giving up 3 runs on 3 walks and 5 hits. TCBC just couldn't regain a lead, despite holding the Giants scoreless the rest of the way, falling 3 to 2. Tyler Fry and Erik Pinkerman provided offensive power, and Josh Taylor shined in the outfield, saving multiple runs with an outstanding grab at the warning track.
Sunday, TCBC hosted the Cleveland Orioles, and didn't do much more than provide batting practice for the visitors. Clint Sorensen, Kevin Metro, Mike Muller and Fry all made their first appearances of the spring on the hill as TCBC fell, 13-0.
The Cities finish out the spring schedule with a record of 1-2, struggling to score runs.
