Cities Lose Game 1 Despite...
Three Cities opened the season campaign at home in 2015, sending Jimmy Paskell to the mound to face the Erie Coast Cubs. While Paskell found his stride, the Cities defense had a rough first inning, allowing 3 unearned runs, and despite the defense being able to "right" itself, the offense was never able to get back to even or take the lead, despite:
The pitching staff (Paskell, Nick Erme, and Lonnie Felton) combining for 10 Ks, 0 Walks & 0 ER
Paskell, Paul Clark, and John Millin contributing 7 (of the team's 9) hits on the day
Runners in scoring position 4 times with less than 2 outs
The Cities were able to scratch across one run, as Scooter Kramer scored from 2nd on a Clark single, but it was not enough, and after 11 otheres were stranded on base, the Erie Coast Cubs coasted to a 3 to 1 victory.
