Three Cities Humble Padres
Less than a week after taking the Cities' starting pitcher Lonnie Felton to task in the Akron Roy Hobbs league (winning 10-0 over Felton's Akron Cardinals on May 10th), the North Coast Padres were handed a taste of humble pie from Felton and the TCBC crew.
Felton fared much better with the Cities behind him, holding the visitors to 0 runs on just 6 hits through 5 innings, while striking out 6 and earning his first win in Ohio MSBL play this year.
A similar story to last week's rout, as once again the City bats were on a tear, hanging 6 runs in back to back innings off the Padres' pitchers Jason Blackiston and Kevin Shemuga. Jimmy Paskell, Paul Clark and Eric Pinkerman paced the TCBC offense, accounting for 7 of the team's 14 hits on the day. Both Paskell and Mike Ruhrkraut contributed a triple and multiple RBIs, while Cory Smith added a double.
Paskell and Jack Wisocki then each pitched an inning for the Cities to round out the game, as TCBC cruised to the 12-1 final (7 innings).
