Cities Come Up Short
Despite a valient effort, the Three Cities BC just couldn't fight through the rain and pain in Saturday's game vs the Lumberkings in Ohio MSBL action.
Nick Erme again started for the Cities, and despite struggling through 3 innings, allowing 6 runs (5 earned) on 6 hits and 2 walks, handed off the game to Jimmy Paskell with the boys in a place to stay in the game.
The Cities offense offered support, fighting back to a 6-6 tie entering the home half of the 6th for Paskell, after Jack Wysocki's 4 base error dropped strike-three (scored as a KO, E2 + 3 SBs, RS).
But Paskell allowed the Lumberkings a run in the bottom of the inning, and 4 more in the 7th to watch the game just slip away. Scooter Kramer came in for the 8th, but even though the Cities scratched together 3 more runs in the 8th and 9th, it just wasn't enough, and the final score was Lumberkings 12 - TCBC 9.
Kramer was POTG, going 3-3 plus a BB and 2 RS in addition to his solid IP (1 ER, 1 HA, 1K), despite fighting illness. Tyler Fry added 2 hits and 3 RBIs.
