Take 2!

The winning ways continued for the Three Cities Baseball Club, taking two wins in the Sunday afternoon split double header at historic League Park.

The opener pitted the boys vs the Aviators, themselves on the tail end of a double-header, following a 21-3 shelling of the Cuyahoga Indians. The Aviators sent their most reliable arm Brad Bowser to the mound vs the Cities to face off against Mike Muller, himself settling into a top-of-the rotation role in 2017.

Bowser pitched well, but fell victim to 5 errors from his defense. Muller, who had pitched a CG win vs the Aviators earlier in the season, found the matchup once again a favorable: this time holding them scoreless for TCBC's first shutout on the year, spreading 6 hits through 7 innings. Final score: TCBC 4 - Aviators 0.

The second game's starter Jimmy Paskell carried on what Muller had started, blanking the Erie Coast Cubs through 6 efficient innings, exiting the game with an 8-0 cushion. After a scoreless frame from Mike Breckenridge, prior to an eventful 7-inning first third of the 8th, Jot Hall entered and backed into the Cities' first save, inducing the final 2 outs of the 8th and pitching the ninth, securing the W for Paskell.

The Three Cities offense put up crooked numbers in the 1st, 4th and 5th innings before cooling off and were led by Chad Mullins (3-3, 2 2B, 4 RBI), Hall (2-4, 2 RS), and Jack Wysocki (2-3, SB, RBI). Final Score: EC Cubs 7 - TCBC 8.
