Double All the Headers

Three Cities returned to Ohio MSBL action on Saturday after a rain cancellation the previous week, with a split double header, hosting the defending 2016 champion Lumberkings and the Angels.

Jimmy Paskell started vs the Lumberkings, and put together a masterful CG, only allowing 1 run on a scorer’s decision double to the left-fielder late in the contest. The offense put together a couple of multi-run innings off of the L’Kings’ starter and relievers. Final score Three Cities 8 - Lumberings 1.

Jack Wysocki made his first start of the year in the second game, giving himself a personal challenge to better the performance of Paskell. Through 4, he was perfect, and didn't allow a runner. To open the 5th he fell victim to a 12-pitch walk to the leadoff man, and following a combination of an error and 2 fielder’s choices, the Angels were able to scratch across an unearned run - killing both the perfecto and the shutout.

Still, Wysocki held the opponent hitless for his first no-hitter, facing only 29 batters on the day, and did not allow a hit out of the infield. Final score Three Cities 8 - Angels 1.
